About the Role

DK Security is Michigan’s fastest growing security company, expanding from its origins as an investigations firm in 1995 to provide uniform security, event staff security, loss prevention services, and more. This is NOT an armed security position.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Assist client staff, visitors, and coworkers, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
• Observe and Report: Stay alert for suspicious activities and incidents.
• Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, and control centers.
• Security Officer: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
• Access Control: Prevent unauthorized persons from entering restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
• Safety Patrol: Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors by enforcing policies and reporting safety concerns.
• Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel.
• Security Liaison: Maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through with client requests, and update site supervisors/operations managers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• No prior experience is required.
• Military veterans and individuals with experience in security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
• Fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Possess professional and excellent customer service skills.
• Have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
• Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana, due to federal government contracts).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies.
• Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk (including up and down stairs) for 8-12 hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (Child, Infant, and Adult), or willing to become certified and be physically capable of administering lifesaving care.
• Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (with assistance if necessary).
• Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Additional Information

• Shift Opening(s): Various days (Monday - Sunday) - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
• Rate of Pay: $17.60.
• Weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles parked on the premises.
• Current employees on active disciplinary probation are not eligible.
• Employees previously removed from the contract governing this position will not be considered.
• Previous employees who were on disciplinary probation at the time of separation will not be considered.
