Junior Engineer, Component Engineering

About the Role

Junior Engineer - Component Engineering role located in Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain component data and manufacturer information & approved vendor lists in global component database.
• Create a component database for all the Electrical/Electronic & Indirect materials.
• Quality review of the component parameter attributes from datasheets.
• Validate MPN and provide Alternates.
• Monitor Component EOL and manage component obsolescence.
• Part of a cross-functional team in implementing product component changes within the Company.
• Work closely with Engineering and materials teams to review product updates / modifications.
• Respond to Business Partner (requestor) and customer on queries relating to Component specifications.
• Ensure adherence to targets set for all Process Metrics.
• Ensure timely generation and circulation of reports / dashboards.
• Train new and existing team members on an ongoing basis on relevant tools or topics.
• Perform root cause analysis to expedite the resolution of service issues.
• Identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement in the execution of procurement processes.
• Prepare Customized reports for analyzing and incorporating improvements in processes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• B.E(ECE/EEE/E&I) graduate.
• NPI (New Product Introduction) BOM (Bill of Materials) Management.
• Semiconductor sourcing/Analysis.
• Working Knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN.
• Hands on Experience in any PLM software.
• good Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word skills.
• Command over oral and written skills in English.
• Good analytical skills, logical thinking, Coaching & mentoring skills.
• Flexible to work in night shifts.
• Should be open for shift.

Qualifications

• (0-2) years of experience as a Component Engineer in Manufacturing set up, preferably in EMS industry.
