News Producer

Key Responsibilities

• Determine the content and flow of newscasts.
• Work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories.
• Develop content for digital platforms.
• Produce daily newscasts and multiplatform content.
• Work closely with the Executive Producer, Assignment Desk, Production, and Anchors on newscast content.

Qualifications

• Solid news judgment.
• Compelling and accurate writing skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts and on digital platforms.
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with non-linear editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere) and newsroom systems.

Previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station is preferred, although entry-level candidates may be considered.

A journalism degree is preferred.
