Emergency Room Technical Assistant
About the Role
- Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice.
- Work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or Provider to ensure seamless patient care.
- Support the Emergency Department team in delivering urgent medical services.
- Contribute to a collaborative and efficient healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Blood draws
- EKGs
- Vital signs/assisting with triage
- Bladder scanning
- Assisting in codes
- Sit and monitor behavioral health patients 1:1
- Splinting
- Basic wound care
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- BCLS certification.
- One of the following:
- B-EMT
- Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program
- Completion of a formal nursing education program
- Completion of a formal medical doctor education program
- One (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience (in lieu of the above completed certification/program; must complete applicable certification/program within 12 months of hire).
- Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant experience.
- EMT license.
