About the Role

The Business Development Representative is the engine of new logo acquisition, identifying, researching, and engaging mid-market and enterprise accounts in the SaaS and cloud infrastructure space to build pipeline for the account executive team. This role is at the front line of a metrics-driven sales organization. Top performers follow a defined path to account executive roles within 12-18 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a tiered territory of target accounts and build a qualified pipeline through high-volume outbound outreach across phone, email (Outreach/Salesloft), and LinkedIn.
  • Research accounts using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and Crunchbase to identify buying committees and personalize multi-touch sequences.
  • Qualify inbound demo requests and event leads against ICP criteria before routing to account executives.
  • Book and confirm 15-20 qualified meetings per month and maintain a consistent 3x pipeline-coverage ratio for assigned territories.
  • Keep Salesforce records complete and accurate: activity logging, lead statuses, meeting notes, and next steps.
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaign follow-up, messaging tests, and territory feedback that sharpens targeting.
  • Consistently hit weekly activity, connection, and meeting-set KPIs while iterating on what converts.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in sales, customer success, business development, or a quota-carrying/candidate-facing role.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — able to write crisp, personalized outreach and hold a credible discovery conversation on the first call.
  • Comfortable with CRM and sales-engagement tooling (Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, or similar); quick to learn new GTM tech.
  • Highly organized and self-directed in a remote environment, with disciplined time-blocking for calling hours and follow-up.
  • Resilient, coachable, and motivated by clear targets, real-time leaderboards, and uncapped commissions.

Bonus

  • Prior experience in tech/SaaS outbound.
  • Exposure to MEDDIC/BANT qualification frameworks.
  • An active personal network in the Atlanta tech ecosystem.
