Electrician

About the Role

This is a contract, on-site Electrician role based in Chennai. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in line with safety standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Wire panels and circuits.
• Perform routine inspections.
• Diagnose and fix electrical faults.
• Conduct preventive maintenance.
• Test systems with appropriate tools.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades.
• Complete work reports.
• Follow local regulations.
• Adhere to workplace safety practices.
• Support efficient operation of electrical infrastructure.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong knowledge of electricity and practical electrical work in industrial, commercial, or residential settings.
• Experience in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems, equipment, and wiring.
• Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles relevant to installation and system performance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, layouts, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and use of testing instruments.
• Good physical fitness.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work in team-based, on-site environments.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Electrical or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Relevant trade certification is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience as an Electrician, preferably in construction, MEP, or facility management projects.
• Willingness to comply with overseas employer policies and adapt to international work environments.
