About the Role

This is a full-time remote role for a Smart TV App Developer. You will design, develop, and maintain Smart TV applications across major platforms, ensuring high performance, reliability, and an intuitive user experience. You will collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into efficient, scalable code and integrate APIs and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement new features.
• Optimize existing functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects.
• Ensure compatibility across devices and screen resolutions.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Maintain documentation.
• Stay current with Smart TV platform updates, SDKs, and best practices.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong foundation in Software Development and Programming for front-end and back-end components of Smart TV applications.
• Experience working with Databases and data models to support content, user preferences, and application state.
• Proficiency with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) or similar styling technologies to create responsive, visually consistent TV interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with Integration of APIs, streaming services, and third-party systems into Smart TV apps.
• Experience with one or more Smart TV or OTT platforms (e.g., Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Roku, Android TV, Fire TV).
• Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and relevant frameworks commonly used in Smart TV or web-based app development.
• Understanding of performance optimization, debugging, and testing techniques for TV and embedded environments.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
