About the Role

The channel explores historical events, figures, and cultures through visually compelling storytelling and short-form educational content. History VLog aims to make history relevant and entertaining, using modern formats and trends across major social media platforms.

The Freelance Video Editor & Social Media Expert is responsible for editing and producing history-focused video content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. This full-time remote role includes assembling raw footage, performing color grading, incorporating motion graphics and titles, and ensuring smooth, engaging storytelling aligned with the brand’s style.

The role also involves planning and scheduling posts, optimizing content for different platforms, writing compelling captions, and analyzing performance metrics to refine social media strategies.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong skills in Video Production and Video Editing.
• Experience assembling footage and crafting clear narrative flow.
• Proficiency in Video Color Grading.
• Ability to create Motion Graphics and integrate graphics elements (titles, lower thirds, thumbnails).
• Familiarity with major editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
• Familiarity with motion graphics tools (e.g., After Effects, Canva or similar).

Qualifications

• Experience managing and growing social media channels, including content planning, posting, and basic analytics review.
• Detail-oriented.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines while working remotely.
• Interest in history or educational content.
• Ability to present complex topics in an engaging visual format.
• Prior experience in digital content creation for YouTube or short-form video platforms is highly beneficial.
