Graduate Engineer, Civil

About the Role

Black & Veatch is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our water and wastewater infrastructure projects team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects, foster professional growth, and advance the success of the company.

Positions are available in Greenwood, CO and Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to support the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and work with teams to resolve design challenges and incorporate client requirements.
• Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods and principles.
• Assist with the development of project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
• Focus on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) and gain a basic understanding of external client interests and drivers.
• Develop and apply knowledge of engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
• Water/wastewater, hydraulics, and fluid mechanic courses are preferred.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
• Basic industry knowledge and technology trends.
• Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Preferred GPA: 3.0
