The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Diego (SACC San Diego) is the largest Swedish non-profit business organization in San Diego. Its mission is to promote and facilitate trade and commerce between Sweden and the greater San Diego area, while providing services to members and enhancing Swedish-American networks.
About the Internship
This is a six-month, full-time Marketing & Communications Intern position located in San Diego, CA, with a preferred start in January 2027. The internship offers real-world experience in marketing, communications, event execution, and international business development. Interns will work closely with the Board of Directors and leadership team, executing the Chamber’s initiatives, projects, webinars, events, and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, promoting, and supporting webinars and virtual programming
- Developing and executing marketing campaigns across email, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
- Creating engaging content including newsletters, graphics, event invitations, and social media posts
- Managing website updates and maintaining consistent branding
- Supporting event marketing for Chamber programs, networking events, and delegations
- Maintaining close communication with strategic partners and corporate members
- Supporting member outreach and engagement initiatives
- Assisting in identifying and attracting new members through targeted communication efforts
- Tracking marketing performance metrics and recommending growth strategies
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Full-time availability for six consecutive months
- Fluent in both oral and written Swedish and English
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Outgoing with strong communication skills
- Highly organized with strong administrative capabilities
- Swedish citizen (required)
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a university program or recently graduated within a relevant field
- Preferable: Relevant practical work experience and/or extracurricular activities
- Preferable: Previous international experience (studying and/or working abroad)
- Preferable: Experience in marketing, communications, sales, or event planning
- Preferable: Project management or leadership experience
- Preferable: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and influence others
- Preferable: Interest in international business, entrepreneurship, and transatlantic collaboration
