About the Role
This internship is within the Property & Casualty Claims Department at State Farm. The program runs from June 2, 2027, to August 11, 2027, with a work arrangement of Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week. The role offers a pay rate of $24.00/hour and a $2,000 stipend. Interns are expected to be available for the full duration of the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn claim handling skills, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and policy application.
- Work with expert claims teams on medical, property, liability, and injury claims.
- Connect and collaborate with agents, insurers, and repair shops.
- Participate in a mentorship program and gain access to senior leadership.
- Engage in volunteer opportunities.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- HYBRID work environment (combination of home and office work).
- Must be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor for U.S. work authorization.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled full-time student throughout the internship duration.
- Majoring in Business, Risk Management/Insurance, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other majors aligning with Claims' business needs.
- Passion for teamwork.
- Sharp critical thinking skills.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Strong customer focus.
- Students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year.
- Graduating in December 2027, May 2028, or May 2029.
- This internship could potentially extend across two summers.
