Postdoctoral Research Associate, Moreno Lab
CHEManager International
About the Role
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Salvador Almagro-Moreno. The lab investigates the emergence and evolution of bacterial pathogens, focusing on molecular strategies for host colonization, virulence regulation, and dispersal. Research interests include pathogenic members of the family Vibrionaceae, with an emphasis on Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio vulnificus. The goal is to forecast emergent virulent strains, predict outbreak sources, and identify potential drug targets. The project aims to map how microbial toxins and protein complexes exist in native cellular environments using molecular microbiology, proteomics, and structural biology to reveal principles of macromolecular organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research projects at the interface of molecular microbiology, host-pathogen interactions, and structural biology.
- Design and execute experiments.
- Analyze large-scale proteomic data and interpret results.
- Lead projects that integrate multiple scientific disciplines.
