Warehouse Custodian

About the Role

Americold Logistics, LLC is seeking a Warehouse Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of facilities, ensuring sanitation of work areas. The role involves keeping office, break rooms, bathrooms, yard/ground, parking lots, warehouse, and dock areas clean.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform heavy cleaning duties: cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
• Perform routine maintenance activities and clean show or debris from grounds, notifying management of repair needs.
• Ensure pest control systems are operating effectively and report problems to the supervisor.
• Remove ice and snow from pedestrian walkways and parking lots as seasonally required.
• Keep company grounds free of litter and debris.
• Work safely and report hazards to the shift supervisor.
• Comply with OSHA standards and Company safety procedures.
• Follow attendance policy, arriving on time and ready to work the assigned shift.
• Wash and/or sweep the insides of trailers and/or railcars as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned, potentially outside of normal responsibilities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to solve routine problems.
• Ability to understand and follow all safety rules, procedure manuals, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and janitorial techniques.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to relate to other people, get along with co-workers, perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others, and respond appropriately to criticism.
• Experience with cleaning equipment such as steamers, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or at least one year of related work experience.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to use hands to handle objects, talk or hear, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell.
• Frequently exposed to extreme cold.
• Moderate noise level in the warehouse.
