Member Service Assistant

About the Role

This role actively greets members, verifies membership cards, keeps entry counts, and checks receipts upon members exiting. It also performs and documents warehouse safety and security checks, while providing a high level of member service.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts hourly building safety and security checks, walking the building and perimeter, pushing carts and picking up stray items or putting items away.
• Corrects safety and security problems encountered, such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits. Fills out reports and shows results to the duty manager.
• Attends warehouse safety meetings.
• Maintains the entrance area: opening/closing store doors, greeting members, verifying membership cards, offering a cart, directing members, keeping the coffee grinder clean, and keeping the entrance/exit area clean and dry.
• Uses a handheld clicker to keep count of entering members, reporting half-hours to front end managers, and recording counts on weekly reports.
• Ensures workers make it to their cars safely, watches for members trying to enter the store, and scans for general suspicious behavior.
• Watches closing managers leave, reports any suspicious activity to the duty manager, and calls the police if necessary.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
