Construction Seasonal Security

About the Role

DK Security is seeking a Construction Seasonal Security Officer to join their team. This is a professional setting with opportunities for growth and meeting new people.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Assist client staff, visitors, and coworkers; maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
• Observe and Report: Monitor for suspicious activities and incidents.
• Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in designated areas.
• Security Officer: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
• Access Control: Verify employee and vendor IDs, prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas, and follow proper access procedures.
• Safety Patrol: Enforce site policies and procedures, report safety concerns, and ensure a safe environment.
• Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, administer CPR/First Aid/AED, and communicate with emergency personnel.
• Security Liaison: Maintain professional communication with client staff, fulfill client requests, and update the site supervisor/operations manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• No prior experience required.
• Prior experience in security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement is encouraged.
• Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
• This is NOT an armed security position. Weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles.
• Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer for emails and online training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a drug screening (including for marijuana, due to federal government contracts).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies.
• Must not have been convicted of misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk (including up and down stairs) for 8-12 hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (Child, Infant, and Adult), or willing to become certified and be physically capable of administering lifesaving care.
• Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (glasses or contacts permitted).
• Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.
• Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Shift Information

• Shift Opening(s): Various days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
• Rate of Pay: $17.60 per hour.

Additional Information

• Current employees on active disciplinary probation are not eligible.
• Employees previously removed from the contract governing this position will not be considered.
• Previous employees on disciplinary probation at the time of separation will not be considered.
