  • Provide a brief weekly update: accomplishments, priorities for the coming week, and decisions or support needed.
  • Work collaboratively, protect confidential information, and treat residents and fellow volunteers with respect.
  • Contribute approximately 10–15 hours per week, with scheduling arranged around availability.
  • Attend regular check-ins and communicate proactively with the Campaign Director.

  • Share information about the Stop the Runaround Helpline as an optional community resource.

  • Record establishments contacted, relationships developed, requested follow-ups, and useful opportunities to connect.

  • Coordinate possible introductions, meetings, or speaking opportunities for the Campaign Director and provide weekly updates.

  • A good fit: Someone interested in networking, Chicago neighborhoods, relationship-building, and coordinating community outreach.

  • Constituent Outreach Coordinator

  • Purpose: Keep individual outreach, phone banking, assignments, and follow-ups organized.

  • Connect interested individuals with relevant opportunities such as volunteering, hosting an event, or receiving information.

  • Provide weekly updates on assignments completed, outstanding contacts, and follow-up needs.

  • A good fit: Someone who enjoys coordinating people, tracking progress, communicating, and using spreadsheets or simple systems.

  • Stop the Runaround Helpline Coordinator

  • Purpose: Keep the campaign’s public-service helpline organized, responsive, and respectful.

  • Coordinate volunteer coverage for calls, texts, and submitted resident inquiries.

  • Review new inquiries, document cases appropriately, and assign research or follow-up tasks.

  • Help volunteers identify relevant public agencies, procedures, contacts, and resources.

  • Coordinate clear explanations of possible next steps tailored to the resident’s needs.

  • Track case progress, follow-up dates, and appropriate escalations to campaign leadership.

  • Keep sensitive resident information separate from political outreach records, and share non-identifying patterns of recurring problems.

  • Report weekly on case activity, unresolved issues, and completed follow-ups.

  • A good fit: Someone interested in public service, government navigation, research, case coordination, and patient problem-solving.

  • Social Media Coordinator

  • Purpose: Support a consistent, informative, and engaging digital presence for the campaign.

  • Maintain a practical social media content calendar.

  • Coordinate updates about campaign events, community engagement, the helpline, and campaign activities.

  • Coordinate volunteers interested in photography, graphic design, video, and editing.

  • Publish approved content and monitor routine comments and engagement.

  • Refer sensitive inquiries or media questions to the Communications & Press Coordinator.

  • Review engagement metrics and provide weekly updates on content published and upcoming needs.

  • A good fit: Someone who enjoys digital storytelling, social platforms, visual content, or organizing creative work.

  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or video editing is a plus.

  • Keep financial documentation orderly, accessible to authorized team members, and confidential.

  • Help prepare records needed for campaign finance filings.

  • Provide regular progress updates on reconciliations, record entry, and missing information.

  • A good fit: Someone detail-oriented and dependable who is interested in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or administration.
