As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you will combine customer service skills with a genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping. This role is ideal for those who want to engage with customers and assist them in solving their home improvement challenges.
Your Day at Lowe's
You will welcome customers, help them find the right products and services, interact with them throughout the day, assist in locating and handling merchandise, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. Daily responsibilities may vary by department.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately to ensure customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Computer proficiency: 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Retail technology: 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
- Basic arithmetic: Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Physical abilities: Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Lifting: Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation.
Qualifications
- Retail and/or customer service experience: 6 months.
- Bi-lingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to a department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).
This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores may be needed.
Environmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, noises, and moving objects/equipment is possible.
Lifting methods vary. Associates must limit single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts start at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance.
