About the Role
Geocomp’s GeoTesting Express (GTX) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Lab Team based in Acton, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to launch their career in geotechnical testing. You will gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art automated testing equipment, advanced processes, and real-world projects that support site characterization, geotechnical design, quality control, and performance assessment.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on soil, rock, and geosynthetics.
- Collect, record, and report test data with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with laboratory projects and daily operations as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
- Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and process compliance.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized, adaptable, and willing to learn new laboratory techniques.
- No prior laboratory experience required — full training will be provided.
Preferred
- Coursework or exposure to earth sciences, geology, civil, or environmental engineering is a plus (not required).
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods at a lab bench or workstation.
- Laboratory environment: standard indoor lab setting.
- Field testing (occasional): typical construction site conditions.
