Member Service Assistant

Position Summary

Actively greets members, verifies membership card, keeps entry counts, and checks receipts upon members exiting. Performs and documents warehouse safety and security checks. Provides a high level of member service.

Job Duties

• Conducts hourly building safety and security checks. Walks the building and perimeter, pushes carts and picks up stray items or puts items away.
• Corrects safety and security problems encountered, such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits. Fills out reports and shows results to the duty manager. Attends warehouse safety meetings.
• Maintains the entrance area: opening/closing store doors, greeting members, verifying membership card, offering a cart, directing members, keeping coffee grinder clean, and keeping entrance/exit area clean and dry.
• Uses a handheld clicker to keep count of entering members, reports half-hours to front end managers, and records counts on weekly reports.
• Proactively greets all members as they enter and utilizes information from the membership scanner to acknowledge membership status and length.
• Ensures workers make it to their cars safely, watches for members trying to enter the store, and scans for general suspicious behavior.
• Watches closing managers leave, reports any suspicious activity to duty manager, and calls police if necessary.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Qualifications

Proof of authorization to work in the United States is required if hired.
