At Zero Bots, we are building Blob, an interactive, stationary desktop companion robot powered by the ESP32-S3 microcontroller. We are a fast-paced hardware startup pushing the boundaries of what small-scale, consumer robotics can do.
Role Description
The CAD Design Intern role is an internship position and is fully remote. The intern will support our engineering and design team by producing and refining technical drawings, 2D and 3D CAD models, and documentation for mechanical parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow established CAD standards.
- Update existing designs.
- Assist with design revisions.
- Prepare drawings for review and production.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers.
- Participate in virtual design reviews.
- Ensure all drawings meet strict quality and accuracy requirements for manufacturing.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Technical Drawing.
- Familiarity with established CAD Standards and Building Information Modeling (BIM), where relevant to design workflows.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, robotics, or automotive design principles is highly beneficial.
- Ability to learn new software tools rapidly.
- Ability to follow technical instructions.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for remote team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of a program in engineering, design, or a related technical field is preferred.
