About the Role

Qonfido is building an AI companion for money and preparing a regulated investment advisory offering for Indian investors. This role is a partnership, not a research internship or a position that publishes stock tips. The work is hybrid and you can be based anywhere in India. You will advise clients using Qonfido's research, product, and compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Advisory
  • Hold discovery and review conversations with clients.
  • Give investment advice only within the scope, products, and process of the regulated offering.
  • Explain risk, costs, and trade-offs in plain language.
  • Keep advice consistent with the client’s goals, horizon, and capacity for loss.
  • Suitability, Disclosures, and Record-Keeping
  • Complete suitability and risk profiling before a recommendation and revisit it when the client’s situation changes.
  • Document advice, rationale, and client consent.
  • Disclose conflicts, fees, and the limits of the advice.
  • Escalate anything that does not fit the framework.
  • Follow the compliance process Qonfido sets for the regulated entity.
  • Partnership with the Product
  • Use Qonfido’s fund research, ratings, and portfolio tools.
  • Provide feedback to founders and product on the advisory flow.
  • Help shape scripts, checklists, and review rhythms for advice quality.
  • Hybrid Practice
  • Be available for client conversations across India, in person where you are based and by video otherwise.
  • Join periodic working sessions with founders and the advisory team.
  • Bring a local client context without building a separate brand.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Valid NISM-Series-X-A: Investment Adviser (Level 1) and NISM-Series-X-B: Investment Adviser (Level 2) certifications, OR a CFP certification issued by FPSB India and in good standing.
  • Able to meet SEBI's eligibility requirements for regulated investment advisory offerings, including qualification, experience, certification, and fit-and-proper requirements.
  • Experience advising Indian individuals or families on mutual funds, asset allocation, or financial planning.
  • Clear spoken and written English, or any regional language, and comfortable explaining advice in the language clients use.
  • High personal standard on suitability and conflicts.
  • Based anywhere in India, with reliable connectivity.

Bonus Points

  • Both NISM Investment Adviser certifications and a current CFP certification.
  • Prior association with a SEBI-registered investment adviser, or experience as a person associated with investment advice.
  • An existing book of retail clients (to be brought through the Qonfido process only).
  • Comfort with mutual fund categories, direct plans, and goal-based allocation.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted research.
