Part-Time Child Development Assistants

About the Role

Anticipated vacancies for Part-time Child Development Assistants within the Division of Student Services, servicing Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Child Development Specialist in planning and executing early childhood activities.
• Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with adults and children.
• Assist the teacher in carrying out the duties of caring for children.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education required within 2 years of hire.
• Previous experience working in a childcare/preschool setting strongly preferred.
• Bilingual/Bicultural preferred.
• Current (within one year) police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required upon hire.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire).
• NSOR Clearance upon hire.

If hired without an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA, employees must fulfill an educational requirement to obtain their CDA within 2 years of hire.

Qualifications

Salary Range

PRJ, Based on years of experience in a relevant position

• 0 - 4 yrs experience = $17.91
• 5 - 10 yrs experience = $19.01
• 11 - 16 yrs experience = $20.14
• 17 - 22 yrs experience = $21.25
• 23 - 28 yrs experience = $22.38
• 29 - 35 yrs experience = $23.49

Schedule

• Up to 7.5 hours per day (between 7 AM - 5 PM)
• 5 days per week
