Bridge design engineer

About the Role

This is a full-time remote role for a Bridge Design Engineer at S&P Infrastructure Developers Pvt Ltd.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning, designing, and analyzing bridge structures for highway and expressway projects.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Preparing design calculations.
• Developing detailed drawings and specifications.
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Reviewing construction methods to ensure structural integrity and safety.
• Assessing existing structures.
• Supporting feasibility and cost estimation studies.
• Providing technical guidance during construction and maintenance phases.
• Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Participating in design reviews.
• Contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement of design processes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong technical skills in structural and bridge engineering.
• Structural analysis.
• Design of concrete and steel bridges.
• Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards.
• Proficiency in engineering software tools, including:
• Structural analysis and design software.
• CAD tools for drafting.
• General office productivity applications.
• Skills in project coordination and documentation:
• Preparing design reports, drawings, specifications.
• Maintaining clear communication with project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and quality control related to highway and bridge projects.
• Understanding of safety and sustainability principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Attention to detail.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• A master’s degree in Structural or Bridge Engineering and professional certifications or licensure are advantageous.
• Relevant experience in bridge design for highway or infrastructure projects is beneficial.
• Familiarity with government or industry standards will be beneficial.
