Sales and Operations Management Trainee

About the Role

As a Sales and Operations Management Trainee, you will use your degree to run a business and solve problems for customers in a fast-paced environment. Penske will provide ongoing training and mentoring in sales processes, leading-edge technology, and company culture to help you succeed in sales, operations, finance, customer service, and technology. You will collaborate with a driven team to build a foundation in sales and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts.
• Manage vehicle inventory, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor’s degree required, with a preferred concentration in Business or Marketing.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
• Must be able to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

DOT and Safety Sensitive Position Requirements:

• Requires a current driver qualification file, including:
• Annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check.
• Successfully completed DOT Physical.
• Safety Performance History records request from prior employers (last 3 years).
• CDL holders:
• DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start.
• Subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary within the district.
• Ability to complete Penske employment application.
• Submit to a background investigation (past employment, education, criminal history).
• Submit to drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently use hands to touch, handle, and feel.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
