Sales and Operations Management Trainee

About the Role

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Sales and Operations Management Trainee to utilize their degree in a fast-paced environment. This role involves running a business, solving customer problems, and building a foundation in sales and operations through ongoing training and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Manage a large inventory of vehicles, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck.
• Willingness to travel as necessary within the district.
• Ability to work at the specific location required.
• Must complete Penske employment application.
• Must submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history).
• Must complete a drug screening.

DOT Regulations & Safety Sensitive Designation

• This position is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file.
• Driver qualification file includes: an annual MVR check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.
• CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• This position is designated as safety sensitive, requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Associates must accept responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Preferred concentration in Business or Marketing.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Internship or related work experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Results oriented, attention to detail, and good time management skills.
