Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, full-time Electrical Design Engineer to join our technical consultancy team on-site in Bakhtiyarpur, Patna. In this role, you will lead and execute specialized electrical modeling, earthing design, electromagnetic interference assessments, and transient power system studies for utility and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Earthing & Grounding Design:
• Perform complete earthing and grounding system analysis for electrical substations, solar PV plants, and wind farms.
• Evaluate fault current dissipation, step and touch voltages, transient overvoltages, and lightning shielding performance.
• Build multi-layer soil and grounding models using software such as CDEGS or similar analytical suites.
• AC/DC Interference & HVDC Transient Studies:
• Analyze electromagnetic induction, conduction (fault current transfer), and electrostatic coupling on nearby pipelines, railways, and communication cables.
• Study HVDC transient dynamics and stray current impacts during system faults and switching events.
• Design mitigation schemes including optimized grounding networks, decoupling devices, and coating enhancements.
• Soil Resistivity Data Processing & Modeling:
• Interpret field measurement data from Wenner four-electrode soil resistivity surveys conducted in accordance with IEEE Std 81.
• Extract accurate multi-layer soil profiles to optimize earthing network safety and performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience: Fresher/Experience in power system design, earthing/grounding studies, or electrical consultancy.
• Software Skills: Hands-on proficiency with CDEGS software (or equivalent grounding and electromagnetic field analysis tools). Training will be provided.
• Technical Standards: Working knowledge of IEEE Std 81, IEEE Std 80, IEC, NACE, and CIGRÉ guidelines.
• Soft Skills: Strong technical writing capabilities, problem-solving mindset, and effective client communication skills.
• Work Arrangement: Willingness to work on-site full-time at the ERCS office in Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, Bihar.
