Sales Associate, Plumbing

About the Role

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you will combine customer service skills with a genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping and solve their home improvement challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately.
• Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store.
• Prepare merchandise based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Computer proficiency: 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Retail technology: 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• Basic arithmetic: Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• Physical demands: Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Lifting: Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation.
• Travel: This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores may be necessary.
• Working conditions: Environmental factors vary by location. May work in inside and outside weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. Potential exposure to constant or intermittent noises, moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary; associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment use requires proper training.

Qualifications

• 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bi-lingual skills.
• Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).
