AI Engineer, Application Development

About the Role

• You'll be one of a small group of AI Engineers working directly with underwriters and operations staff.
• This role leans toward application development: designing and shipping AI-powered apps and workflows people use every day.
• Everyone on the team also works on data and infrastructure.
• Three senior AI engineers review your work and teach you along the way.

Key Responsibilities

• Adapt existing products to user needs.
• Build new products where existing ones do not fit.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong Python and working SQL.
• Hands-on full-stack development experience.
• Work you built yourself and can show us, including one or more of the following:
• A full-stack AI application.
• A document-processing or structured-extraction tool.
• An agentic workflow or tool integration.
• A human review or approval process built into an app.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field.
• 0–4 years of experience, including internships and co-ops.
• Curiosity about how the business runs, and the patience to learn insurance from the people who know it.
• Clear communication with non-technical colleagues.
