Prompt Engineer

About the Role

As a Prompt Engineer (Back End) intern at WishPeti, you will help design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power our privacy-first gifting platform. You will work on implementing APIs, integrating data storage solutions, and supporting the core “Double-Blind” logistics and “Intent-Locked” payment systems. This is a remote internship role, offering hands-on experience in a fast-moving fintech and social commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing clean, maintainable server-side code.
• Reviewing and debugging existing services.
• Collaborating with product and frontend teams.
• Participating in code reviews.
• Assisting in monitoring performance and improving reliability.
• Contributing to security and privacy best practices.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong foundation in backend programming (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go, Java).
• Experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of databases and data storage (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, key-value stores).
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, or service-oriented architecture.
• Experience working with APIs and integrations.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps basics (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, version control with Git).
• Interest in security and privacy best practices, including secure coding, data protection, and safe payment or transaction flows.

Qualifications

• Ability to write clear technical documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in remote teams.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Curiosity about fintech, social commerce, and creator-focused products.
• Prior startup or project experience is a plus.
