- Location: New Albany, IN
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Specialty: Family Medicine
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
- Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs, and perform EKGs.
- Administer injections and collect specimens.
- Document patient care using NextGen electronic medical record software.
- Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls, and complete paperwork.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor, in-office procedures.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school education or GED equivalent.
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) or willingness to attain within 9 months of start date.
- CPR Certified.
Qualifications
- EMR/EHR experience (Preferred).
- Experience with Epic medical records software (Preferred).
- Experience with medical front office and back-office duties including vitals, injections, administering medications, referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance verifications (Preferred).
- 1+ years of MA experience (Preferred).
- Graduated from an accredited MA program (Preferred).
