About the Role

Prequel is building family trust through stories that show what students can do when school works differently. This role focuses on creating compelling content that highlights student breakthroughs, addresses parent concerns, and captures campus moments. You will have the opportunity to learn and utilize AI-driven marketing systems while contributing to their development. This is an early-career role with significant ownership, where you will build proof, systems, and judgment through hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create platform-native organic content for Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and related channels, including hooks, scripts, captions, carousels, and short-form videos.
  • Interview students and families at Prequel schools, transforming raw conversations into clear, consented stories with strong proof points.
  • Shoot, assemble, edit, and package lightweight photo and video assets using accessible tools.
  • Utilize AI tools for research, drafting, editing, repurposing, and quality-checking content packages across multiple channels.
  • Review social and search performance data and apply learnings to future content cycles.

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Scheduling prewritten posts without owning the concept, story, creative, or performance.
  • Running paid media campaigns, ad buying, bid optimization, or paid acquisition reporting.
  • Producing strategy decks that do not result in shipped content.
  • Acting as the primary brand designer, creative director, or commercial film crew.
  • Publishing unreviewed AI output, repetitive caption variants, or keyword-stuffed articles.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Portfolio with at least 5 examples of self-created social, video, written, or campaign content.
  • Evidence of owning content for a real audience (e.g., college club, student organization, internship, side project, creator account, or small business).
  • Ability to independently concept, film, edit, and package short-form video.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, demonstrated through clear, audience-specific work samples.
  • Practical use of AI in a real content workflow beyond isolated caption ideas.
  • Must be based in Arizona, be eligible for Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance, and be able to travel regularly to school locations in Arizona and Texas.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • AI tools for research, drafting, editing, repurposing, and quality-checking.
  • Platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Recent bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, media, business, education, or a related field.
  • Experience turning interviews into concise written, photo, or video stories.
  • Experience using content metrics (e.g., watch time, saves, shares, comments, profile visits, inquiries) to improve future work.
  • Exposure to search-optimized writing, programmatic SEO, or editorial review of AI-generated articles.
  • Experience building prompts, templates, or lightweight automations for content production.
