Farmer

About the Role

The Farmer will work full time on-site in the Greater Chennai Area, focusing on the day-to-day management of agricultural activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing soil
• Planting
• Watering
• Fertilizing
• Harvesting crops according to seasonal and product requirements
• Monitoring crop health
• Identifying pests or diseases, and coordinating with supervisors or agronomists on appropriate interventions
• Operating and maintaining farming tools and equipment
• Following safety and quality standards
• Assisting with packing, storage, and basic record-keeping related to yields and inputs
• Collaborating with other team members to meet production targets
• Maintaining a clean, organized work environment

Qualifications

• Experience in basic farming operations, including soil preparation, planting, irrigation, and harvesting
• Ability to identify common crop issues such as pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, and follow guidance on treatment
• Comfort with operating and maintaining standard agricultural tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Physical ability to perform outdoor, labor-intensive work in varied weather conditions
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for maintaining simple records of inputs and yields
• Strong reliability, time management, and willingness to follow instructions and established processes
• Previous experience in agriculture or relevant vocational training is preferred but not mandatory.
