About the Role
Carrier Enterprise (CE) is seeking a dedicated Inside Sales Engineer Trainee to provide customer sales and support for Commercial contractor sales of HVAC equipment, HVAC parts, and supplies. This role will collaborate with the commercial sales team as a technical advisor and product advocate, responsible for configuring, pricing, and quoting technical and financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to new business opportunities based on sales leads from Account or Sales Managers and generate quotes for commercial sales with assigned accounts.
- Assist Account Managers and Sales Managers with new and existing accounts, and introduce new products to Engineers and Mechanical Contractors.
- Complete bids, submittals, and take-offs based on plan reviews and specifications in support of commercial sales.
- Follow up on quotes, bids, and submittals to finalize the sale.
- Engage extensively with customers, manufacturers, and the sales team via phone and email.
- Assist with training for Commercial dealers as needed.
- Resolve customer issues in alignment with company mission, values, and financial objectives.
- Identify and communicate customer needs and sales opportunities to drive future growth.
- Travel as needed with the Sales Team to support presentations and trade show activities.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems.
- Maintain expert-level product knowledge and applications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with CRM/Database tools.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the competence to make recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technical Field or equivalent successful experience in a similar technical role.
- 1 + years of commercial HVAC engineering or applications experience, or technical knowledge of HVAC.
- Experience working with contractors is highly desired.
