Summer 2027 Internship, Digital Enablement

About the Role

BWE's Digital Enablement team is looking for a Summer Intern. This role provides hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of a digital solution, from understanding a business problem to designing and building AI-powered or reporting solutions and their data pipelines. The role sits at the intersection of business analysis, applied AI/application development, and data engineering (Databricks). It is suitable for a student curious across these three areas. You will work directly with business stakeholders to understand their needs, help shape and build custom applications or reporting tools, and support the data integrations that power them.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Analysis

• Participate in stakeholder meetings to learn how business requirements are gathered and documented.

• Help translate business needs into user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.

• Support documentation of current-state vs. future-state processes for digital initiatives.

• AI & Application Development

• Assist in building custom applications and reporting solutions based on gathered requirements.

• Support prototyping of AI-driven features (e.g., automation, natural language interfaces, predictive insights).

• Help test and refine solutions based on stakeholder feedback.

• Data & Integration

• Support the design and build of integrations between business applications and data platforms.

• Gain hands-on exposure to Databricks, working with pipelines, notebooks, and data models.

• Help validate data flowing between systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields:
• Information Systems / Management Information Systems (MIS)
• Data Science
• Data Analytics / Business Analytics
• Computer Science
• Computer Information Systems
• Software Engineering
• Business Administration (with a quantitative or technology concentration)
• Finance
• Real Estate
• Economics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in AI/ML concepts and their business applications.

Preferred Qualifications (Not required — we'll teach you)

• Exposure to SQL or Python.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Spark, or similar data platforms.
• Experience with requirements-gathering tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Visio).
• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Coursework or projects involving AI/ML or application development.
