Manager Trainee

About the Role

Budget Car and Truck Rental of Kansas City is seeking a dynamic Manager Trainee to join their Kansas City team. This program is designed to prepare trainees for leading a standalone store or overseeing rentals and operations at the airport.

Key Responsibilities

• Team up with managers to manage rental agencies and operations.
• Monitor operational departments for smooth functioning.
• Monitor fleet and inventory flow to meet customer demands and track reservations.
• Manage the counter system, including opening and closing rental contracts and printing manifests.
• Track daily inventory, both hands-on and digitally.
• Boost sales by promoting add-ons like extra insurance, GPS, or vehicle upgrades.
• Handle opening and closing routines, including security protocols.
• Perform office essentials such as answering calls, ordering supplies, photocopying, and answering general questions.
• Prepare reports and log daily achievements.
• Resolve customer issues, including explaining charges, handling vehicle problems, and providing directions.
• Collaborate with and assist fellow agents, nearby locations, or other teams as needed.
• Coach and mentor team members.
• Assist with training, supervising, and inspiring team members.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• At least 18 years old.
• A clean driving record for the last 3 years (some exceptions apply).
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Customer Service Savvy: Demonstrated ability in customer service, from retail, campus jobs, or volunteer work.
• Sales Skills: Experience in closing deals or persuading others.
• Leadership Vibes: Experience leading a team, club, or project (professional experience is a plus but not required).
• Eager to Learn: A positive attitude and a desire to grow in a fast-paced environment.
