About the Role

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co-op opportunities for college students seeking hands-on experience in their fields of study. Interns/co-ops work alongside experienced professionals as part of diverse work teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support high standards for protecting people, the environment, and communities across business areas: Refining; Midstream Crude Oil & Products Logistics (Logistics & Storage); Midstream Natural Gas & Natural Gas Liquids Services; and Occupational & Environmental Hygiene.
• Receive training in various Health, Environmental, Safety & Security (HES&S) subject areas.
• Assist company professionals in implementing health, safety, and security planning and compliance activities.
• Duties may include:
• Facility audits
• Employee training programs
• Industrial hygiene
• Equipment maintenance
• Participation in health, safety, and security projects
• Incident investigations
• Emergency preparedness and response
• Governmental inspections
• Compliance with government regulations
• Working as an agency liaison with other Marathon business units.
• Write and submit reports for some projects.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the internship experience.
• Strong academic performance.
• Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to safely ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs and/or ladders.
• Must be able to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
• Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from the place of work.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Available for multiple work terms is preferred.

MIN - $24.09 per hour / MAX - $35.96 per hour
