About the Role
Verisk's FAST is looking for a FinOps Engineer to assist in cloud cost management and critical infrastructure optimization. This role contributes to adherence to FinOps best practices, budget establishment, alert creation, pattern investigation, and forecasting. The FinOps Engineer will collaborate with internal teams to improve processes, offerings, and financial models.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and proposing improvements or new solutions.
- Support internal teams with cloud cost information, preparing budgets, and recommending usage limits.
- Prepare cost estimates and forecasts for new architectures.
- Continuously improve pricing models for existing architectures.
- Document procedures, configurations, and best practices.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) and general cloud computing concepts.
- Moderate understanding of infrastructure metrics, monitoring, and analytics.
- Passion for technology and focus on automation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, IT or system support, or similar related experience.
- Interest in AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn how they apply to cloud optimization.
- AWS Certification(s) are preferred.
