About Agento

Agento is building a governance-first AI operating system for enterprises, enabling the deployment of intelligent agents for business workflows. The platform connects AI models, enterprise knowledge, business applications, APIs, and human approval processes to automate complex operational tasks.

About the Role

We seek a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to solve problems at the intersection of software engineering, AI, and business operations. As an FDE, you will work across product and customer environments, translating business requirements into AI-powered solutions. You will integrate enterprise systems, configure agentic workflows, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure reliable deployments. This is not a traditional support role; engineers will investigate problems, write code, connect systems, test solutions, and own outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure AI agents and automated business workflows.
  • Integrate enterprise applications using REST APIs, webhooks, and connectors.
  • Work with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, and enterprise knowledge sources.
  • Connect AI workflows to systems like SharePoint and other business applications.
  • Develop scripts, integration logic, and lightweight services to solve deployment challenges.
  • Troubleshoot authentication, data access, API failures, and workflow execution issues.
  • Test AI solutions for reliability, accuracy, security, and operational readiness.
  • Investigate unfamiliar technical environments and develop practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn field learnings into reusable platform capabilities.
  • Document implementations, technical decisions, and lessons learned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Programming experience or a strong foundation in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a similar language.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and authentication.
  • Familiarity with Git and software development fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical thinking and systematic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and work independently.
  • Clear communication and the ability to explain technical decisions.
  • Experience with LLMs, AI agents, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development is good to have.
  • Exposure to RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or knowledge graphs is good to have.
  • Familiarity with Azure, cloud deployments, Docker, or Linux is good to have.
  • Experience integrating SaaS platforms or enterprise applications is good to have.
  • Understanding of OAuth, role-based access control, and secure system integration is good to have.
  • Personal projects, GitHub repositories, prototypes, or deployed applications are considered.

Qualifications

This opportunity is suitable for:

  • Recent graduates in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related disciplines.
  • Junior software engineers interested in applied AI.
  • Developers who have built personal projects and want to work on real-world deployments.
  • Self-taught engineers who can demonstrate strong practical skills.
  • A relevant degree is desirable but not essential if equivalent technical ability can be demonstrated.

The Agento Gauntlet

Candidates may be invited to participate in a practical technical challenge to demonstrate engineering ability, problem-solving approach, and readiness for real deployment challenges. This may include:

  • Building or adapting a working AI-powered solution.
  • Integrating multiple systems and troubleshooting API issues.
  • Diagnosing failures and investigating unfamiliar technical problems.
  • Designing and testing an end-to-end workflow.
  • Identifying security, reliability, and operational risks.
  • Explaining solutions, trade-offs, and implementation decisions.

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on experience building and deploying enterprise AI solutions.
  • Exposure to agent orchestration, enterprise integrations, and workflow automation.
  • Opportunity to work across software engineering and real-world business problems.
  • Direct collaboration with the Agento development team.
  • Opportunity to contribute deployment challenges to the platform.
