Educational counsellor

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Educational Counsellor role at SelectYourUniversity, a leading overseas education consultancy. You will guide students interested in studying online courses and other programs abroad and in India, helping them understand admission processes, eligibility criteria, and university options.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct counseling sessions.
• Respond to student and parent inquiries.
• Assist with documentation and application procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress.
• Coordinate with universities and internal teams.
• Organize information sessions or seminars.
• Ensure timely follow-up with prospective students.
• Uphold professional standards and provide unbiased advice.
• Contribute to meeting team and organizational targets.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong student counseling and advisory skills, including the ability to explain complex admission and visa processes clearly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Good organizational and documentation abilities, with attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of education systems, particularly online courses, UG/PG courses, and education pathways, or willingness to learn quickly.
• Comfort with using computers, online research tools, and standard office software for data entry and communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple student cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Education, Psychology, Commerce, Arts, or related fields preferred).
• Prior experience in academic counseling, admissions, or customer-facing roles is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.
