About the Role
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Transportation Department in Glen Allen, VA. This role is ideal for creative and impactful individuals looking to contribute to a wide range of transportation projects. The position is expected to start Summer 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of new bridges
- Design for bridge rehabilitation projects
- Development of bridge maintenance and repair plans
- Performing load ratings for bridges
- Design of transit structures
- Bridge and tunnel inspection and evaluation
- Various tunnel engineering support services
- Preparation of construction plans and specifications
- Preparation of cost estimates and schedules
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- US Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
- AutoCad, Microstation, MS Office
- Structural Analysis Software experience
Qualifications
- Registration as an E.I.T. (preferred)
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
- Flexibility to work on a variety of projects, including highways, bridges and tunnels.
- Flexibility to occasionally work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments depending on project needs.
- Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate good problem-solving ability.
- Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms.
- Masters Degree (preferred)
- Previous experience with Internships (preferred)
