Thrift Associate

About the Role

Blue Ridge Care Services is seeking a Thrift Associate to join their Winchester City Thrift Team. In this role, you will contribute to the daily operations of the thrift store, helping to support compassionate hospice and healthcare services for the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Create an Inviting Store Environment:
• Price, stock, and merchandise donated items.
• Design attractive displays that encourage sales.
• Keep the sales floor organized and appealing.
• Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:
• Welcome customers with a friendly attitude.
• Answer questions and assist shoppers.
• Share the mission and impact of Blue Ridge Care.
• Process Donations:
• Sort incoming donations.
• Prepare merchandise for sale.
• Ensure quality presentation of store items.
• Support Volunteers:
• Work alongside volunteers.
• Help orient and guide new volunteers.
• Promote a safe and positive work environment.
• Assist with Store Operations:
• Open and close the store as scheduled.
• Maintain accurate sales and donation records.
• Support daily deposits and cash handling procedures.
• Maintain a Clean, Safe Space:
• Help keep the store, offices, and restrooms clean and organized.
• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for customers and donors.
• Work Independently and Take Initiative:
• Solve problems proactively.
• Support the store's success and mission every day.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic computer skills or willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and self-motivated.
