About the Role

The Gynaecology Registrar role involves the diagnosis and treatment of women's reproductive health issues, providing pre-natal and obstetric care, and performing both minor and supervised surgical procedures. The role includes managing outpatient and inpatient care, collaborating with other medical professionals, supervising junior staff, and performing administrative duties like patient record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care:
• Diagnosing and treating a range of gynaecological conditions.
• Providing pre-natal care, monitoring fetal development, and managing complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
• Offering advice and services related to contraception and family planning.
• Clinical Procedures:
• Performing minor and major surgical procedures under supervision.
• Assisting in deliveries and other obstetric procedures.
• Departmental Operations:
• Managing outpatient services and ensuring an efficient patient flow.
• Conducting patient rounds and supervising the care of inpatients.
• Teamwork and Supervision:
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians, endocrinologists, and radiologists.
• Supervising and teaching junior doctors and hospital medical officers.
• Administrative Duties:
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.
• Participating in teaching, research, and ensuring compliance with medical guidelines.
