About the Role
The Backend Developer (Internship & Remote opportunity) will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that power RxGPT’s healthcare automation platform. This is a full-time remote role focused on building APIs, integrating with hospital information systems, and ensuring secure and reliable data processing for AI agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing new features.
- Optimizing existing backend components.
- Writing clean and testable code.
- Collaborating with frontend, AI, and product teams.
- Assisting in troubleshooting production issues.
- Improving performance.
- Participating in code reviews and documentation.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in at least one server-side language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, or Java).
- Experience with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Basic knowledge of NoSQL data stores or caching technologies.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Version control with Git.
- Writing unit and integration tests.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Exposure to containerization (Docker).
- Exposure to CI/CD workflows.
- Understanding of secure coding practices.
- Understanding of authentication/authorization concepts.
- Basic monitoring or logging tools.
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in remote teams.
- Ability to follow documented processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enrollment in or completion of a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial.
- Prior exposure to healthcare or regulated environments is a plus.
- Interest in AI-driven products.
- Willingness to learn quickly.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
