Software Engineer

About the Role

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking an Early Career Software Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded software and software requirements for avionics and missions systems. This role is for individuals ready to engage deeply, think critically, and build with purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software for business/mission problems using computer language and data processing equipment.
• Applies standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
• Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, business/mission applications, information processing techniques, and system user information to develop software.
• Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• US Citizen
• Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
• Position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in computer science or related engineering discipline.
• Experience with the software development process in a team environment.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Python.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Jira, Git, and/or automated testing.
