AI Engineer Intern, Founding Engineer Track

About the Role

HireBuddy is building an AI-powered recruiting platform. This internship offers the opportunity to work directly with founders, build real features, and help shape the technology behind the AI platform. This is not a "watch-and-learn" internship.

Initially, this is a 3-month unpaid internship. For the exceptional candidate, this internship could lead to a Founding Engineer role, including equity ownership.

What You'll Build

• Develop real product features across frontend and backend.
• Help advance our AI-powered talent sourcing and recruiting engine.
• Build AI-driven capabilities using LLMs, APIs, and modern development tools.
• Own features end-to-end — from idea and architecture to deployment.
• Work directly with the founders on product decisions and technical challenges.
• Experiment, iterate, ship fast, and see your work make an immediate impact.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• React, Next.js, TypeScript
• SQL and database fundamentals
• Experience building web applications
• GitHub, Vercel, AWS

Bonus:

• Full-stack development experience
• APIs and third-party integrations
• LLMs, OpenAI APIs, or AI agent development
• Supabase or similar backend platforms
• Stripe

Qualifications

• Current MS Computer Science students or exceptional BS juniors/seniors.
• Outstanding self-taught builders are also encouraged to apply.
