Key Responsibilities

• Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers regarding rework opportunities for excess and/or zero demand items resulting from supply and demand changes or ECR activity.
• Provides inputs to the BU Materials' teams for determining backup stock during high-demand periods, considering lead time, last time buy, end of life, and MOQ, in alignment with buyers and materials planners.
• Mediates and partners with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues for assigned product groups. Escalates issues to Commodity Business Managers when necessary.
• Works with buyers and MPMs to cancel POs with no demand or demand drop. Analyzes demand in other plants in SAP and transfers the PO to the required plant in SAP via STO/ICTO.
• For excess materials that cannot be consumed, validates feasibility of rework into another usable part for different products within an organization and oversees the execution of that rework.
• Works with buyers to sell-back excess parts, subject to a fee as per alignment with the vendor.
• Aligns with part designers to scrap excess materials if no other usage is feasible.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands and can leverage extensive use of inventory management systems, Excel, Kinaxis, and Tableau to develop accurate product analysis summaries.
• Should understand how to utilize SAP, CORE, Teamcenter; how to interpret drawings and apply product knowledge to rework estimations from suppliers.
• Business Expertise: Knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; aware of competition and factors that differentiate them in the market.
• Leadership: Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
