About the Role
Python Test engineer at Infosys.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Python.
- Create and execute automated test scripts for web, API, and backend applications.
- Develop reusable automation components and utilities.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Analyze business requirements and convert them into test scenarios and test cases.
- Identify, log, track, and verify software defects.
- Automate API testing and backend validations.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Generate test reports and provide quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps teams, business analysts, and QA teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Hands-on experience with Python automation frameworks such as: PyTest, Unittest, Robot Framework, Behave (BDD).
- Experience in Web Automation Testing using: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright (Preferred).
- Experience in API Automation Testing using: Requests Library, PyTest, Postman, REST Assured concepts.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems.
- Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.
- Experience with test design techniques and automation best practices.
- Strong understanding of:
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- Integration Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
