Sales and Operations Management Trainee

About the Role

As a Sales and Operations Management Trainee in a fast-paced environment, you will use your degree to run a business and solve problems for customers. Penske will introduce you to sales processes, leading-edge technology, and company culture through ongoing training and mentoring to help cultivate the skills and expertise needed to succeed in sales, operations, finance, customer service, and technology. You’ll collaborate with a high-energy team to build a solid foundation in sales and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts.
• Manage vehicle inventory, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor’s degree required, with a preferred concentration in Business or Marketing.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Internship or related work experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Results-oriented, attention to detail, and good time management skills.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck.
• Willingness to travel as necessary within the district.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
• This position is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file, including annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request.
• Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
• This position is designated as safety sensitive, requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information; and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
