About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Reportero role based in Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and gather information on assigned topics.
• Conduct interviews.
• Verify facts to produce accurate, timely news stories and reports.
• Write and edit news articles.
• Create multimedia content such as photos, videos, or audio segments.
• Collaborate with editors and other team members to refine story angles.
• Monitor relevant beats.
• Attend events or press briefings.
• Meet strict deadlines while adhering to editorial standards and ethical reporting practices.
• Contribute to content planning.
• Suggest story ideas.
• Support coverage across digital and traditional platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong Reporting and News Writing skills to produce clear, factual, and engaging stories.
• Excellent Communication and Writing skills for interviews, source interactions, and polished written content.
• Multimedia skills to create and adapt content for video, audio, and digital platforms.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Fact-checking ability.
• Adherence to journalistic ethics.
• Ability to work on-site in Chennai.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with digital news platforms, social media, and basic content management tools.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in reporting or newsroom environments, especially in IT, business, or corporate sectors, is an advantage.
