About the Role
ALTA Performance Materials is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team in Jacksonville, AR. This role is a key part of the organization, offering the opportunity to make a real impact within a dynamic, collaborative environment. The Lab Technician reports to the Manager of Quality and Process Improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical and physical analysis on samples using established procedures, including but not limited to viscosity, thixotropic index, gel, interval, peak, appearance, color, acid number, monomer percent, water percent, and Barcol development.
- Make recommendations to production operators regarding additive adjustments to meet physical and chemical properties.
- Use SAP to record recommended adjustments for inventory.
- Maintain batch records, including process log sheets, charge sheets, rework sheets, specification sheets, certificates of analysis, and other relevant paperwork.
- Assist with the ordering, receiving, and shipping of raw materials and samples.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including periodic calibration, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Recommend formula revisions based on product history.
- Support all quality control functions: procedure updates, data entry, and small-scale development work.
- Verify calibration status of lab equipment.

Qualifications
- Two years of college in a Science related field (e.g., Engineering technology, industrial technology, material science, physics, chemistry) is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 6 months of lab experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use observation skills to problem-solve.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
